Reading

Teaching reading is a balancing act indeed. Providing children varied experiences that develop varied skills is essential to their reading success.
Phonemic Awareness: to know sounds and manipulate sounds (all oral)
Phonics: the relationship between letters, sounds & words
Vocabulary: the meaning of words
Comprehension: to understand or make meaning of the text
Fluency: reading with accuracy, rate and expression
